Daemen University’s Alfiero School of Business sport management and business administration students were taken out to the ballgame at Sahlen Field—the home of the Buffalo Bisons—last month for a behind-the-scenes tour of facilities and stadium operations and networking opportunities with staff members before enjoying the game.

Opportunities like this reinforce our commitment to providing hands-on, real-world learning experiences outside the classroom for our Alfiero School of Business and sport management students.”

“Getting a tour through the Bisons stadium was an amazing experience!” said business administration student Lasse Mergens. “We were even featured during an on-field promotion which made this a truly unforgettable event. I’d like to thank the Alfiero Schoolof Business and Professor Chasey for making this trip possible, and thank the Bisons for hosting us.”

Sport management student Jenae Samuels added, “I gained a new perspective on the sports industry that extends far beyond the classroom. As a sport management student, seeing so many women working across different roles within the organization was both inspiring and affirming. The experience not only deepened my understanding of what it takes to work in sports, but also showed me that there is a place for everyone, including me.”
