Daemen College recently presented top honors and scholarships to winners of the 50th annual All High Exhibition, which featured some of the finest artwork by high school students from throughout the Buffalo Niagara region.
This year’s winners of $5,000 Visual Arts Scholarships, which are awarded by the Daemen Visual and Performing Arts Department, are Taylor Hunstberger from Pioneer High School and Maiya Kettlehone from Honeoye Falls-Lima High School. Selection for the renewable scholarship is based on academic achievement and the strength of a student’s portfolio that is formally evaluated by faculty on the department’s Portfolio Day.
Top honors for the 2019 All High Exhibition were presented to:
- Best in Show – Lily Redeye, Gowanda High School.
- Best Drawing – Alex Christensen, Batavia High School.
- Best Illustration – Samuel Fesmire, North Tonawanda High School, and Jack Wright, Amherst High School.
- Best Mix Media – Isabele Kozak, Pioneer High School.
- Best Painting – Amanda Giglia, Clarence High School.
- Best Photo – James Murray, The Gow School.
- Best Print – Caitlyn Wilson, Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts.
- Best Three-Dimensional – Alicia Pszczola, Gowanda High School.
- Buffalo Society of Artists Award – Heather Boehnke, Sweet Home High School.
Honorable mentions were awarded to:
- Emma Baker–Terhaar – Amherst High School.
- Kathryn Bean – Nichols School.
- Hayli Green – Pioneer High School.
- Julianna Grudzien – Gowanda High School.
- Eileena Kent – Lewiston-Porter High School.
