Three Daemen College faculty and staff were honored as recipients of the 2018 Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awards by President Gary Olson following his spring State of the College Address on April 20.

This year’s honorees are Floyd Scheifla, facilities services staff, Outstanding Staff Award; Dr. Gregg Shutts, professor and chair of the Physician Assistant Studies Program, Outstanding Faculty Award; and Adriane Williams, associate director of academic advisement and coordinator of First Year Initiatives, Outstanding Administrator Award.

“These award recipients uphold the highest standards of excellence and have provided exemplary service to Daemen,” said Olson. “We are proud to recognize their dedication and contributions to our college.”

Scheifla was praised for “always being helpful, kind, and dedicated, and pays attention to every detail and takes pride in a job well done. He is one of the most pleasant and positive staff members on campus.”

In recognizing Shutts, he was acknowledged for “working tirelessly to ensure that students become responsible professionals, and he is a strong advocate for students. An excellent professor with vast disciplinary knowledge, he is involved in every class in the curriculum.”

Williams was praised for “going above and beyond in all duties, and always offering to help others. She is an unsung hero who works very hard, takes on difficult challenges, and is especially dedicated to helping students.”
