Daemen University received an Excalibur Award during the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Buffalo Niagara Chapter’s 36th annual Excalibur Awards on October 15.
Regina Misercola, coordinator of annual giving, Shelby Janzcyk ‘18, ‘25, former assistant director of branding, design & digital content, and Kathryn Hammer ‘06, senior associate vice president for advancement, represented the Marketing & Communications and Institutional Advancement teams, accepting the Silver Excalibur Award in the Tactics–Promotional Materials and Publications category for their collaborative work on the Daemen Day of Giving Ambassador Handbook.
“Our Ambassador Handbook served as an invitation to students and staff to get involved in Day of Giving. It was both informative and inspiring, outlining how anyone can become an ambassador and make a Daemen difference,” said Misercola. “We revamped the ambassador program last year and it paid off, not just in this award, but in a record-number of participation and funds raised. It’s an honor to be recognized for this work.”
Alum Nicholas Schafer ‘13 received a Gold Excalibur Award in the Tactic–Video or Audio Programs category for his “Illuminating mental healthcare for kids” campaign with Kaleida Health.
