Dobrin delivered a thought-provoking presentation on AI, “Generative Artificial Intelligence & Higher Education,” focusing on the evolving world of AI and its ongoing impact on higher education. He encouraged attendees to move away from resisting AI and perceiving it as a threat, to building transparency, trust, and communication around responsible use of AI tools.

He commended Daemen for taking an early and proactive approach to planning for AI adoption and policy. Dobrin also emphasized the importance of AI literacy for students given the increase in employers’ expectations around this skill set.

“Dr. Dobrin’s expertise and contemporary perspective relative to AI and higher education was deeply appreciated and well received by attendees,” said Dr. Michael Brogan, executive vice president for Academic Affairs and provost. “His presentation was timely, enlightening, and thought-provoking and made a profound impact on us all.”
