What was once a massive parking lot between Dun Scotus Hall and the Charles J. Wick Campus Center, now resembles the outline of the long-awaited Daemen Public Square at Daemen University.
Construction crews, who started work in late May, have formed walkways, laid the pad for a fountain, and carved out areas for green space. The sod is expected to be laid as early as next week.
“This is just the start of a traditional campus quad here at Daemen,” President Gary A. Olson said. “Over time, we will continue to add trees and other features to the public square, which will help to improve the overall student experience and their well-being.”
As part of the project, work is underway on the last of a series of new parking lots in the Getzville section of campus.
Both the quad and lot are scheduled to be completed by the start of the fall semester in September.
