AMHERST, N.Y. - The Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) has appointed Daemen University Director of Athletics Traci Murphy to serve as the organizations 2nd Vice President for the 2023-24 membership year. The appointment was one of several announced today by the organization.

Kirby Garry, director of athletics at Cal State Monterey Bay, was selected President for the 2023-24 membership year. Garry takes over for Past President, Kim Pate, vice president of athletics at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Serving alongside Garry will be 1st Vice President Michael McFarland of Bloomsburg University, Murphy and 3rd Vice President Jenn Bell of Converse University. Murphy has served on the D2 ADA Board of Directors the past two years. 

The D2 ADA is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of Division II athletics directors. The D2 ADA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 59^th year.

The 2023-24 academic year will mark Murphy's sixth leading the Division of Athletics at Daemen. Since being appointed in 2018, Murphy has overseen teams that have produced eight regular season conference championships, six conference tournament titles and 12 NCAA tournament berths. In December of 2021 she was selected to represent the East Coast Conference on the inaugural NCAA Division II Implementation Committee, which recently reviewed the division's rules and policies and made recommendations to ensure that changes are consistent with the principles agreed upon in the new Division II constitution.
