Students Sweep Photo Contest

Three Daemen students—Bella Humberstone, Savannah Hermanson, and Zorian Edwards—were announced the winners of Daemen’s Founders Week photo contest on September 25.

The photo contest, open to faculty, staff, and students, encouraged photographers to capture “the most beautiful photograph of the Daemen campus.” Participants were given an entire year to capture the perfect shot, enabling them to experiment with different seasons, landscapes, and iconic locations across campus.

Humberstone won first place and a $500 cash prize for her nighttime photo of Curtis Hall, Hermanson won second place for her sunset photo of notable campus buildings, and Edwards won third place for his fall photo of Founders Bell. Hermanson and Edwards both received $100 cash prizes.

“There were 27 participants, most of whom were students,” said Chief of Staff Joelle Carroll. “We were very impressed with the thought and effort that went into every photo that was submitted, which made it a difficult decision for the judging committee.”
