Therese Huston
Author Dr. Therese Huston will discuss her book, “How Women Decide: What’s True, What’s Not, and What Strategies Spark the Best Choices,” from 4 to 5 p.m. Aug. 25 in Daemen College’s Rosary Hall.
The discussion will be followed by a book signing, with books available for purchase at the event. Light refreshments will be served.
In her book, Huston draws on her background as a cognitive psychologist to examine and challenge research, and, ultimately, disprove several common assumptions about how women make decisions. The book includes stories of real women and their experiences, and looks at ways to shape habits, perceptions and strategies to make the best decisions.
Huston has written for the New York Times and Harvard Business Review. Founding director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Seattle University, she is also author of “Teaching What You Don’t Know.”
The book discussion, which is free and open to the public, is being co-sponsored by the Daemen Office of Academic Affairs and the college’s Executive Leadership and Change and Women’s Studies Programs.
