Daemen College will hold an information night on Nov. 30 for its professional master’s athletic training program, which is one of only two accredited programs in New York State.
The event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Academic and Wellness Center Room 201 at 4433 Main St. in Amherst, located directly across from the college’s main campus. Refreshments will be served.
Information will be provided on Daemen’s 3+2 program that offers students the opportunity to earn in five years a bachelor’s degree in natural science or health promotion and a master’s degree in athletic training, and also the direct entry master-level program designed for students who hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Attendees will learn about the program from athletic training faculty, students, and alumni, and area professionals will talk about their experiences working in the field. The event will also feature tours of the athletic training program’s state-of-the-art classrooms and learning spaces housed in the Academic and Wellness Center.
Established in 2008, Daemen’s professional master’s athletic training program received continuing accreditation this year from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The 10-year accreditation is the maximum term available to institutions.
For five consecutive years, the college’s athletic training graduates have achieved a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the rigorous National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Board of Certification exam, a rate that far surpasses the national average of 83 percent.
Registration is requested but not required to attend Daemen’s athletic training information night by calling 839-8225.
