Experts to Discuss Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis

alp-logoAutism and applied behavior analysis will be discussed by experts in the field at a free educational event scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 15 in Room 120 in Daemen College’s Research and Information Commons.

The event, “Myths and Misconceptions About ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) and Autism,” will be offered by Autism Learning Partners (ALP) in collaboration with Daemen.

Designed for providers and parents, attendees will learn about ABA and its effectiveness in the treatment of autism, use of ABA in a home setting, professional training for ABA therapy, and other related areas.

A panel discussion will feature autism experts Dr. Vicki Madaus Knapp, assistant professor of education at Daemen and ABA program director; Dr. Gina Chang, chief of clinical operations at Autism Learning Partners (ALP); and Rachael Schneider, associate clinical director at ALP. A question and answer session will follow the panel discussion.
