The Daemen College community came together on May 5 to generously support students as part of the international Giving Tuesday Now effort, a global day of giving as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
On Giving Tuesday, more than 60 members of the college community made gifts to the Daemen Care Fund, which provides emergency assistance to students in need. These donations will help provide students access to resources for remote learning and assistance for housing, groceries, transportation, and other unforeseen financial needs many students are facing amid this crisis.
“The pandemic is having an enormous financial impact on our students while they work toward fulfilling their dream of achieving a college degree,” said Meghan Burke, director of the Daemen Fund. “The generosity of the Daemen community will help our students continue their studies uninterrupted and also provides great comfort to them in knowing that others care about their success during this tremendously challenging time.”
