Young Professionals Connect at Symposium

Several round tables with people seated around them.Young professionals gathered at Daemen University on March 13 for the Amherst Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Business Leaders (EBL) Symposium to network with peers, faculty, and local business leaders.

Amherst Chamber of Commerce President & CEO A.J. Baynes provided opening remarks, followed by a welcome from EBL Co-Chairs Lynsey Zimdahl Weaver and Sarah Just.

Christina Coyle-Lenz

Daemen faculty, Christina Coyle-Lenz, director of leadership & innovation, and Tito Rodriguez, assistant professor of business administration shared thought-provoking presentations with attendees. Coyle-Lenz presented “From Fog to Focus: Making Sense of Messy Problems.” Rodriguez presented “Improving Performance by Strengthening the Weakest Link.”

“We are excited to once again collaborate with the Amherst Chamber of Commerce on our fifth year hosting the symposium,” said Kaylyn Billups, director of graduate admissions. “This is a wonderful opportunity for young and established business professionals to network, learn from each other, and become more involved in the local community.”

The symposium is part of the Chamber’s EBL program, through which young professionals meet monthly to expand their network, further leadership skills and professional growth, and make a meaningful impact in the community.
