High-achieving high school seniors nominated to compete for Daemen College’s prestigious Trustee Scholarships will participate in the college’s 15th annual Scholars Day scheduled for Feb. 2.
“We are delighted to offer prospective students the opportunity to be considered for our top academic scholarship,” said Dr. Greg Nayor, vice president for student affairs and strategic initiatives. “To attract such a highly select group of students for our Trustee Scholarships speaks to the quality of our academic programs and the dynamic student experience that we provide.”
To be eligible for the scholarships, prospective first-year students must be accepted into the college and nominated by Daemen’s Trustee Committee and then may apply for the awards. Students attending Scholars Day will be interviewed on campus by Daemen faculty, staff, and alumni, and area high school counselors.
Selection for Trustee Scholarships is based on academic achievement; vision for self and society; enthusiasm and inspiration; academic and personal discipline; and leadership ability. Both intellect and character are considered and selected scholars are those who have potential to make a difference in their careers and in the Daemen community.
