Daemen University’s physician assistant program continues to garner national distinction, leading the way in educating healthcare professionals.
The Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) released its 2025 performance report in which Daemen’s first-time pass rate for 2025 was 100%, exceeding the national first-time pass rate of 91%. Daemen’s five-year average pass rate is 97%, exceeding the national five-year average pass rate of 92%. In addition, Daemen exceeded the national average on all organ systems and task areas.
“Achieving a 100% PANCE pass rate is an extraordinary accomplishment and a direct reflection of our students’ dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence. It also speaks to the strength of our faculty, the rigor of our curriculum, and the supportive learning environment we’ve built,” said Dr. Jennifer Barwell, associate professor and PA program director and chair. “I am incredibly proud of our graduates for meeting this milestone and entering the profession fully prepared to provide high-quality, compassionate care to their patients and communities.”
PA students must pass the PANCE after graduating to practice clinically. The multiple-choice exam includes five blocks of 60 questions and covers a wide range of medical and surgical knowledge.
