Three Daemen College faculty and staff were presented 2019 Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awards by President Gary Olson following his spring State of the College address on April 24.
This year’s honorees are Dr. Lisa Parshall of Tonawanda, professor of political science, Outstanding Faculty Award; Patrick Ryan of Cheektowaga, mailroom clerk, Outstanding Staff Award; and Phyllis Shroot of Brooklyn, coordinator of education for the Brooklyn program, Outstanding Administrator Award.
“It is a great honor to recognize these stellar faculty and staff and to acknowledge their extraordinary service to our college,” said Olson.
Parshall was praised for being “instrumental in the design and execution of her program’s curriculum. She greatly enhances the student experience and is always available to students and peers.”
In recognizing Ryan, he was commended for “his positive energy and taking pride in a job well done. He never hesitates to help others and is a hard worker, and always displays a kind demeanor.”
Shroot was noted for “not hesitating to take on difficult challenges, and working hard to empower others and collaborate as a true team player. She is a professional and dedicated employee.”
