Meet Lexi Szewczyk ’23, the winner of our first-ever “Leave Your Mark” contest.
Last semester, the Marketing & Communications team asked students to submit artwork to be used on the back cover of the Fall/Winter 2024 Daemen Today magazine.
While we received several excellent submissions, Szewczyk’s design took the top honor.
“The artwork is of five giant monsters parading down the City of Buffalo repping Daemen apparel,” Szewczyk said, who is also enrolled in the Leadership and Innovation graduate program. “The piece is meant to be a kind of metaphor for school spirit.”
Each monster is an original character, and Szewczyk said the design took her about a week to finish.
“I came up with the idea by thinking about how I wanted to show how big my love is for Daemen University,” she added.
