Navigating the Daemen University campus just got a little easier as all the streets have officially been named for the first time.
As the campus grew and more roads were added, Dr. Greg Nayor, the senior vice president for strategic initiatives, said it made sense to add street names for many reasons.
“We think that the new street naming project on campus will serve Daemen community members well moving forward, enabling visitors an easier time to find the campus and for emergency personnel to respond to campus if needed,” Nayor added.
When it came to naming the streets, the Office of the President played a critical role in helping to identify names that are symbolic to an institution of higher education, the campus environment, but that would also comply with Town of Amherst standards including, Academia Avenue and Provost Way.
The process is now underway to get the street names added to Google Maps.
