Daemen University welcomed first-year students and their families to campus on Aug. 29 for move-in and orientation to kick off the 2025-26 academic year.
Students from 12 states, including Colorado, Kansas and Nevada, and international students from such nations as Norway and Canada arrived on campus excited to meet their roommates, explore the grounds, and settle into their new home away from home before starting classes on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Daemen projects a 13% increase in fall enrollment for the incoming first-year cohort and a 43% increase in new transfer students over fall 2024. In addition, Daemen projects a 22% increase in graduate enrollment, which will be confirmed in November after its Brooklyn campus and select online programs complete enrollment.
Over 50 new athletes are joining Daemen’s NCAA Division II teams, including men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, and cross-country/track and field, as well as women’s lacrosse and bowling.
“We are thrilled to welcome an increased number of new undergraduate students to campus,” said Megan Beardi, director of undergraduate admissions. “These academically-accomplished students bring energy and excitement to the start of the school year and we know they will have a profound impact on the campus community.”
