Daemen University held its annual Campus Organization Fair — which is open to all Daemen students, and is required as part of its first-year experience program, “Gearing Up,” that helps students adjust to college life — on Tuesday, Sept 16. The event, sponsored by Student Affairs, included members from special interest groups and academic clubs and organizations who provided information to students about various opportunities to get involved on campus, as well as open leadership positions for which they can apply.Group of students outside standing around a table on college campus

“It’s always great to see our student organizations at the start of each year and feel the energy they bring to campus,” said Luke Haumesser, dean of students. “Student organizations offer opportunities for students to meet new people, grow as individuals, try something new, and create a sense of belonging. Daemen recognizes that clubs and organizations play an essential role in the university experience and we will continue to make a conscious effort to support them so they can be successful.”

“Having our first year students attend our Club and Organization Fair through Gearing Up is a wonderful way to connect our new students to our campus community,” said Sabrina Fennell, associate vice president for student success. “It is important they learn of all of the wonderful opportunities for campus engagement as they start their first semester at Daemen.”Group of students standing in line on college campus sidewalk with a building in the background

The Student Affairs and Student Success departments will continue to expand and adapt the fair to make students’ campus experiences as enriching as possible.
