Gala to Support Student Scholarships and Honor Community Leader

By | September 13, 2019

Daemen College’s annual Scholarship Gala, one of its premier events to raise scholarship support for students and to recognize a distinguished leader in Western New York, will be held on Sept. 20 at the historic Buffalo Club at 388 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo.

The evening event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. and will include a cocktail reception, dinner, and live music.

“As Daemen’s signature student scholarship fundraising event, the gala provides support that has a powerful and direct impact on the lives of our students,” said Mary Glenn, vice president for institutional advancement. “The generosity of our donors makes a Daemen education possible and enables our students to achieve their college dreams.”

The gala will feature the presentation of the prestigious 2019 Community Excellence Award to Stuart Angert. The Community Excellence Award recognizes a community member who serves as an exemplary leader and who defines the spirit of Daemen. A life-long resident of Amherst, Angert has dedicated his life to serving the Western New York community.

All proceeds from the Scholarship Gala, which is being held as part of Daemen’s Founders Celebration, will contribute toward the $22 million goal for Daemen’s Drive to 75 campaign, the college’s largest ever comprehensive fundraising effort.
