One of Daemen’s longest running annual traditions will return to campus in 2022.
The Academic Festival, a spring staple at the college since 2000, is slated for Wed. April 27.
After becoming a virtual event in 2020 due to the pandemic, the festival was canceled in 2021.
Its return will mark the 20th iteration of an event unique to Daemen that brings together the college community to celebrate the academic and creative achievements of students.
The event centers on works and presentations by undergraduates—including posters, papers, panel discussions, and exhibits, as well as musical and theatrical performances.
“The festival is a chance to highlight our talented students and their achievements,” said Jill Robins, associate vice president for advancement and special events.
“We’re looking forward to bringing the festival back safely and restoring a special tradition at Daemen,” added Robins.
The event has a history of attracting hundreds of proposals from students each year, and drawing thousands of visitors to campus.
The festival is also known for its colorful covers and posters, often consisting of artwork by students.
More details and important deadlines for the 2022 Academic Festival will be shared in the new year.
