AMHERST, N.Y. - Sophomore defensive specialist Jasmine Brundage (East Aurora, N.Y.) of Daemen College has been named the East Coast Conference Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the period of October 18-24. It marks the sixth time in eight weeks this season that Brundage has collected the award which was announced this afternoon via the ECC's weekly sport report.

Brundage was once again the Wildcats' defensive leader while wearing the libero jersey in three matches last week. The Western New York native totaled 47 digs - an average of 4.70 digs per set - as the Wildcats posted a 2-1 record for the week.

In a four-set non-conference loss to perennial Atlantic Region contender Gannon, Brundage posted a match-high 26 digs - her second match this season with at least 25. She totaled nine digs in a 3-0 win over Queens (N.Y.) last Friday evening as the Wildcats clinched a berth in next month's ECC Championship tournament. Brundage added a match-high 12 digs as the Wildcats completed their season sweep of defending conference champion Molloy on Saturday afternoon.

Brundage continues to lead the ECC in both total digs (332) and digs per set (4.20). Her efforts have been central to Daemen's stellar defensive play this season as the Wildcats lead the ECC in opponents' hitting percentage (.125) while also ranking second in digs per set (16.42).

With Brundage's selection, the Wildcats have had at least one ECC weekly award recipient in all eight weeks this season. The Wildcats (15-7, 8-0 ECC) have won 11 of their last 13 matches and remain the only ECC team without a conference loss.

In addition, senior outside hitter Sam Logan (Eden, N.Y.) was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll after averaging a team-high 3.88 kills per set last week. Logan is averaging 3.52 kills per set over the last 11 matches, increasing her season average to 3.07 which ranks fifth in the conference.

Daemen returns to action Tuesday evening when they trek to Rochester to face long-time rival Roberts Wesleyan.
