PT Students in ClassroomThe Daemen College Physical Therapy Program has kicked off a new effort with its clinical partners to help raise awareness and interest in the doctor of physical therapy degree.

Starting this month, outreach will be done with more than 85 clinical partners in the Western New York region, as well as selected partners in New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The program will ask for the partners’ assistance in showcasing the DPT program in their facility. Posters and flyers highlighting the DPT program will be made available for their use.

“Many physical therapy students choose the field of PT as a career based on the positive experiences they personally had as a patient or a family member had as a patient in PT practices,” said Dr. Greg Ford, physical therapy chair and associate professor. “By making information available at the facilities of our partners, they will play a role in raising the visibility of the DPT program and hopefully spark interest in prospective students to consider Daemen as their program of choice.”

Outreach will be done primarily with private practices and hospitals that offer outpatient physical therapy services.
