Daemen University will host prospective students and their families from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, for Visit Day, an annual event showcasing the institution’s bustling Amherst campus and community.
The event will allow visitors to not only see campus in person, but also meet current students, faculty, and staff.
“This year’s Visit Day is held on Veterans Day, a holiday for high school and community college students, making it a convenient opportunity to learn more about our programs and campus life,” said Austin Brass, director of undergraduate admissions at Daemen. “These students can take advantage of their day off from school and discover how Daemen can help them take the next step in their education.”
Daemen’s admissions-related events, such as Open House and Accepted Student Day, are held on weekends; however, Visit Day is unique in that it takes place on a weekday when classes are in session and staff are in the office.
“During the event, attendees can grab a bite to eat in our dining hall alongside students, walk the halls as students go to and from class, and even watch a pick-up basketball game – these are all part of the student experience at Daemen,” said Yolanda Morris, director of admissions events and special programs.
This year, the event is set up in separate hour-long blocks, providing a more intimate experience for attendees to engage with campus representatives, explained Morris.
Also, admissions representatives will be on hand to speak with visitors during information sessions about the college application process. Campus tours will be offered as well.
“The chair of our physical therapy department will provide an in-depth overview of the program’s structure and offerings, as well as help answer any questions,” said Brass.
