Byron Brown Appointed Trustee of Daemen University

Byron Brown, Buffalo’s longest-serving mayor and now President and CEO of Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation, has been appointed to the Daemen University Board of Trustees. The board voted unanimously to appoint Brown during its Tuesday, November 12 quarterly meeting.African American man wearing glasses, a white dress shirt, yellow tie and gray suit coat.

“We are delighted to have Byron join our stellar Board,” said John Yurtchuk, chairman of the Daemen board. “He brings a great deal of diverse experience to the table, and I’m honored that he will be part of our commitment to excellence!”

Brown will serve a three-year term, with the possibility of two additional terms. Brown is a 2024 graduate of Daemen’s MS in Leadership and Innovation program.

Daemen’s board includes a number of prominent Buffalo leaders: Former congressman and now CEO of Shea’s Performing Arts Center, Brian Higgins; Candace Johnson, President and CEO of Roswell Park Cancer Institute; Scott Bieler, President of West Herr Auto Group; and former congressman and now Senior Policy Advisor at Holland and Knight, Thomas Reynolds.
