Three Daemen College students were honored for academic excellence by the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) Buffalo Chapter at its annual Education Night and Awards Dinner held on April 24.
The annual event recognizes top accounting students from colleges and universities from throughout the Buffalo Niagara region.
Ashlee Justin has received the NYSSCPA Award of Honor for a Graduate Student. A Depew resident, Justin is graduating this month with a bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in accounting/professional accountancy.
The NYSSCPA Award of Honor for a Senior Student was presented to Bryan Irish-Jones, who will graduate in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in accounting/professional accountancy. He resides in Clarence.
Michael Szmania, a West Seneca resident, received the John T. Kennedy Memorial Award. He is a junior accounting/professional accountancy major.
“We are immensely proud of these students for being recognized by the local NYSSCPA chapter, and congratulate them for their outstanding academic accomplishments in our accounting program,” said Dr. Michele Flint, associate professor of accounting, who chaired and hosted the awards event.
