For the first time since launching in 2020, the master in business administration (MBA) program at Daemen University has received accreditation from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) – joining over 230 educational institutions in more than 20 countries.

Daemen also received reaffirmation of IACBE accreditation for the university’s undergraduate- and graduate-level business and accounting programs – including a specialized accounting accreditation. All accreditations run through April 2029.

“For students and alums, accreditation adds value to the degrees they earn at Daemen,” said Michael Brogan, provost of Daemen. “The international standards we’ve proven and uphold to maintain this recognition ensure that all of our students receive a high-quality education with a strong reputation.”

Added Brogan, “To have our MBA program recognized so soon after launching is a testament how favorably we compete with some of the top programs in the country.”

Nationally and internationally, Daemen joins IACBE-accredited programs at the Florida Institute of Technology, Hampton University, Rhode Island College, Eastern Oregon University, Excelsior College, Humboldt State University, Institute of Management Technology-Dubai, International University in Geneva (Switzerland) and many others.

“Our passion for providing students with curriculum to meet the changing business environment – including our new MBA program – positioned us perfectly to showcase our alignment with accreditation standards,” said Sharlene Buszka, chair of the Departments of Business Administration and Accounting, and an associate professor, at Daemen.

IACBE accreditation is based on a diverse range of measures, including academic quality, student admissions and retention standards, faculty qualifications, facilities, job placement/employment of graduates, job advancement of graduates, student success in passing certification examinations, among other factors.

“Accreditation validates what the educational experience students respond to every day,” said Megan Beardi, director of graduate and transfer admissions at the university. “Small class sizes and mentorship by faculty – and the professional connections they provide – prepare our graduates for professional success.”

All degree programs offered by Daemen’s Departments of Business Administration and Accounting have received IACBE accreditation, including:

  • Master of Science Professional Accountancy
  • Master of Science International Business
  • MBA
  • Master of Science Professional Accountancy
  • Bachelor of Science Accounting
  • Bachelor of Science Business Administration (with specializations in general business, human resource management, international business, marketing, operations and supply chain management, social entrepreneurship, and sport management)

The university will be publicly recognized for achieving accreditation at the 2023 IACBE Annual Conference and Assembly Meeting to be held April 2023, in Orlando, Florida.

Founded in 1997, the IACBE is nationally recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
