On Thursday, April 27, Daemen officials held a reception in Alumni House for neighbors who live near the campus on Getzville Rd. and adjacent streets to discuss college initiatives and future plans for campus growth.
This was one of a series of receptions for local neighbors held over the last five years to promote community relations and an understanding of college developments.
“We want all our neighbors to feel that Daemen is part of the community and that they are part of the Daemen Community,” said Don Phillips, Director of Facilities Services.
Neighbors who attended the recent reception commented that they appreciate the spirit of openness and transparency that the college has exhibited lately.
“I have always told friends and family that we do find Daemen to be an asset to our neighborhood and we all want what is best for our community at large,” said Elmhurst Rd. resident Kate Shotwell in an email after the event. “It became apparent to us last night that you are committed to being a ‘good neighbor’ and for that we thank you.”
