President Gary Olson and several Daemen leaders have been named among the most influential leaders in Western New York in Buffalo Business First’s just released Power 250 list, a yearly ranking of the region’s most prominent leaders.
Olson, who ranks number 54, said, “The fact that so many of Daemen’s trustees and Community Advisory Board members are represented on this list is a tribute to the confidence that Western New York leaders have in the university and its future. I’m honored to be named among them.”
John Yurtchuk, Daemen Board of Trustees chair and Chairman of the Calspan Corporation, was also named. In addition, trustees Scott Bieler, president and CEO of West Herr Automotive Group; Candace Johnson, president and CEO of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; and Arthur Wingerter, president of Univera Healthcare. Also included was emeritus trustee Peter Hunt, chairman and CEO of Hunt Real Estate Corporation.
Several members of Daemen’s Community Advisory Board were also named:
A.J. Baynes, president and CEO of Erie County Medical Center Corporation; Byron Brown, Mayor of Buffalo; Brian Higgins, U.S. House of Representatives; Brian Kulpa, Supervisor of the Town of Amherst; Karen McMahon, New York State Assembly member; Crystal Peoples-Stokes, New York State Assembly Majority Leader; Thomas Quatroche Jr., president and CEO of Erie County Medical Center; Eric Reich, co-chair of Western New York Regional Economic Development Council; Rocco Termini, president of Signature Development Buffalo LLC; and Howard Zemsky, managing partner of Larkin Development Group.
The list is nominated by Buffalo Business First editors and reporters, with rankings based on extensive research and in-house discussions. The list is then composed of local leaders from a range of organizations and industries that the selection committee believes will make a difference in 2023.
