A major project to transform the heart of the Daemen University campus is taking shape this summer, with construction underway on the Daemen Public Square.
Shortly after graduation last month, crews began the process of removing the large parking lot between Dun Scotus Hall and the Charles J. Wick Campus Center. It will be replaced with a traditional campus quad.
“When students return for the Fall semester, they will be greeted by beautiful new greenspace in the campus center,” said President Gary A. Olson. “The Daemen Public Square caps a long-term beautification process. We’ve made our campus more aesthetically pleasing, safer, and pedestrian-friendly, truly creating a distinctive student experience.”
Parking will be relocated to a series of newly constructed lots strategically hidden amongst trees and vegetation in the Getzville section of campus.
