The Wildcat Golf Classic has developed into the largest fundraising event of the year for Daemen Athletics, adding more than a quarter of a million dollars to the department’s external revenue coffers. Funds generated from the event help Daemen to provide athletic scholarships to well-deserving student-athletes and supports endeavors that enhance the overall student-athlete experience.
The event will feature an 11:30 a.m. shotgun tee time, with accommodations for more than 100 golfers. In addition to a full 18-hole round of golf, participants can expect driving range and putting green access, tee gifts, a barbecue-style lunch provided by Dickey’s BBQ food truck, beverages on the course, and a boxed dinner to go from the Diamond Hawk clubhouse at a cost of $150 per golfer or $600 per foursome. The early bird registration price is available until Aug, 15, after which the price will rise to $175 per golfer and $700 per foursome.
The tournament features a traditional four-man scramble format. No handicaps are needed for participation. Diamond Hawk Golf Course, which is hosting the Wildcat Golf Classic for the third time, offers country club conditions at a public course.
A wide-array of sponsorship opportunities are also available for those wishing to make it a more corporate experience for themselves or area businesses. Sponsorships range from $200 to $10,000 and include various marketing elements. Donations of gift certificates, sports equipment, game or event tickets, and merchandise for use as event prizes will be accepted as well.
“The Wildcat Golf Classic brings together members of Daemen Athletics, fans, and supporters,” said Traci Murphy, director of athletics. “From alumni to corporate partners, faculty, and parents of student-athletes past and present, this event is a wonderful opportunity to promote fellowship among those who believe in our mission while making an investment in today’s NCAA Division II student-athletes.”
Daemen Athletics, in partnership with Diamond Hawk Golf Course, is committed to providing a first-rate golf experience while abiding by all state and local policies regarding COVID-19.
