Outstanding high school seniors nominated to compete for Daemen College academic scholarships, including the institution’s prestigious Trustee Scholarships, will participate in the college’s 13th annual Scholar’s Day scheduled for Feb. 4.
“Scholar’s Day has become a very important opportunity for students to compete for our highest academic scholarship,” said Dr. Patricia Brown, vice president for enrollment management. “The Trustee Scholarship offers financial assistance that enables students to receive a Daemen education and pursue their dream of earning a college degree.”
To be eligible for the scholarships, prospective first-year students must be accepted into the college and nominated by Daemen’s Trustee Committee and then may apply for the awards. Students attending Scholar’s Day will be interviewed on campus by Daemen faculty, staff and alumni and area high school counselors
Selection for Trustee Scholarships is based on academic achievement; vision for self and society; enthusiasm and inspiration; academic and personal discipline; and leadership ability. Both intellect and character are considered and selected scholars are those who have potential to make a difference in their careers and in the Daemen community.
