Dr. Michael Geraci, Jr. ’79

Daemen College physical therapy alumnus Dr. Michael Geraci ’79, was honored with the college’s 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award for Advancement in Career.

He is owner of Geraci Spine and Sports Medicine in Williamsville and has devoted more than 30 years to the study and treatment in the fields of spine and sports medicine. He is also a clinical associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University at Buffalo and Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.

A Buffalo resident, Geraci earned his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, and is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a subspecialty board certification in sports medicine.

Outside of his clinical practice, Geraci has focused on and started one of the first fellowships in his specialty, training 24 spine and sports medicine fellows. He continues to teach at local and national meetings as well as conducts research in the areas of functional exercise and regenerative medicine. He has authored more than 20 peer reviewed scientific articles and book chapters.
