Athletic training student Jessica Baun recently won the Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association Quiz Bowl. The event featured 16 teams of students who competed to answer questions that ranged from athletic training history to medical diagnoses.
Baun will go on to represent the National Athletic Trainers’ Association District 2 in the National Student Quiz Bowl in June.
“This experience will bring her a lot of attention from athletic trainers around the country,” said Lynn Matthews, interim chair and program director of the Daemen College Athletic Training Department. “Many employers attend the convention in search of athletic trainers. Colleges and sports teams looking for interns the following year may use the Quiz Bowl as a place to find prospective athletic trainers for their positions.”
Baun is on track to graduate in May.
