Daemen University hosted several summer sports camps, including boys’ and girls’ basketball and volleyball, as well as an Olympic Camp featuring multiple sports such as basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and more, to help aspiring athletes channel their love of the game.
The camps, held in July and August, welcomed close to 1,000 young athletes to campus where they learned the fundamentals of their respective sports, as well as the importance of working together with their teammates and coaches to achieve success.
“We look forward to our summer camps every year,” said Traci Murphy, vice president of Daemen Athletics. “To see the potential of these young athletes continue to blossom as we introduce them to Daemen’s NCAA Division II athletic programs creates a prosperous future for everyone involved. We hope to see these athletes return to Daemen to pursue their athletic and academic goals.”
Daemen’s Summer Track Series, led by cross country and track coaches, welcomed youth and adult athletes in July to participate in four track meets that included several individual running events, as well as a running relay and long jump and shot put events.
Daemen offers additional basketball and volleyball camps and clinics throughout the academic year. In addition, the university plans to expand its camp offerings next spring and summer at Royal Park to include boys’ and girls’ soccer and lacrosse.
