Outstanding Faculty and Staff Recognized

Three Daemen College faculty and staff were announced as recipients of 2020 Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awards as part of President Gary Olson’s recent State of the College address, which was presented virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s honorees are Dr. Erica Frisicaro-Pawlowski of Kenmore, associate professor of English, Outstanding Faculty Award; Heidi Popek of Lancaster, coordinator of administrative services for enrollment management, Outstanding Staff Award; and Tiffany Shadden of Amherst, registrar, Outstanding Administrator Award.

 

“We are pleased to recognize the exceptional work and dedication of these outstanding faculty and staff, who exemplify the highest ideals of excellence in their positions,” said Olson.

Popek was commended as an “integral part of the success and organization of the Daemen Office of Admissions. She has positive energy, is kind and always happy, and clearly takes pride in a job well done.”

In recognizing Frisicaro-Pawlowski, she was praised as an “excellent teacher, who goes above and beyond to support students both in and out of the classroom. She greatly enhances the student experience and is always available to students and colleagues.”

Shadden was praised as a “professional and dedicated employees with a can-do attitude and a smile for everyone. She does not hesitate to take on difficult challenges and works hard to empower others and collaborate as a true team player.”
