Joy Scribner earned a bachelor’s degree in history and government from Daemen College. After working in the environmental field, she decided to make a career change when her children were young.
Scribner pursued her interest in sewing and spent the next couple years fine-tuning her skills and learning garment construction, pattern making, and tailoring. She then teamed up with Ali Eagen, owner of Made by Anatomy, where they make custom bridal gowns and reconstruct vintage dresses. Overseeing alterations and reconstructions, Scribner enjoys learning about the history of each vintage wedding dress and working with the bride to pay homage to the past while fulfilling her own style.
“I loved my time at Daemen, especially the History and Government Club and the lifelong friendships that I made. My college experience is something I draw on each and every day,” said Scribner. “I am very fortunate to now have the opportunity to be creative in my career and to contribute to the success of a growing woman-owned business.”
Scribner resides in Lewiston with her husband and two children, Sofia, 11, and Brock, 9.
