Nearly 160 prospective students attended Daemen University’s annual Accepted Student Day on Saturday, April 1 to celebrate their acceptance and get a firsthand experience of what it’s like to be a Wildcat.
Prospective students and their families had the opportunity to meet other members of the Class of 2023, speak with faculty and staff, learn more about financial aid opportunities, and tour the Daemen campus.
Some of the majors represented at Accepted Student Day included Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Psychology, and Animation.
“My goal is to always make prospective students and their families feel welcome on our campus,” said Yolanda Morris, Senior Director of Enrollment Events & Experience. “Accepted Student Day provides a one-of-a-kind chance to learn more about our students, our campus, and all the wonderful opportunities Daemen has to offer. They can get a true feel for what it is like to be a student at the university. We want them to see themselves here and ultimately leave with the feeling that Daemen is the right fit for them.”
Daemen has accepted over 2,000 students, a 10% increase from last year. Prospective students have until Monday, May 1 to make a decision.
“For many students, they are still making their final decisions about what school they would like to attend,” added Megan Beardi, the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. “Accepted Student Day is one of our last events where we try to really provide an atmosphere where the prospective students can envision themselves as a student here at Daemen University. We hope by the end of the event students make that decision for Daemen to be their home for the next 4-6 years.”
Daemen will host Virtual Accepted Student Day on Wednesday, April 12. This year’s Spring Open House will take place on Saturday, April 15.
