Day of Giving Sees Record-Setting Support

Student with Day of Giving posterDaemen University’s eighth annual Day of Giving on Thursday, April 18, 2024, set new records for money raised and the number of donors, with 967 supporters donating a preliminary total of $152,606.

Funds raised during the 24-hour campaign will support student scholarships, the President’s Excellence Fund, athletics teams, facility enhancements, and much more. 

“We are grateful for the overwhelming generosity from everyone who donated during Daemen’s Day of Giving,” said President Gary A. Olson. “Each gift makes a profound impact on the educational experience for our students.”

Among the larger gifts received on the Day of Giving: $25,000 from Sue Falsone ‘96, supporting the Gross Anatomy Lab renovation; $13,000 from Andrew Olsen and Candlelight Cabinetry for the cross country team; $10,000 from Buffalo Rehab Group for the Gross Anatomy Lab; and $5,000 from ESPN basketball writer Adrian Wojnarowski for the men’s basketball team. 

The goal for this year’s Day of Giving was $100,000.

“We are sincerely grateful for the generous donors who stepped up to help us not only meet our goal this year but to greatly surpass it,” said Dr. Mario Hicks, the vice president for institutional advancement. “The record-breaking fundraiser resulted in critical dollars being raised for our students, programs, and facilities. A heartfelt thanks to all.”
