Four members of the Daemen University community were recognized during the annual faculty and staff award ceremony by President Gary A. Olson following the spring State of the University address on April 26.
Pete Bellanca, the assistant director of Facility Services, was honored with the President’s Excellence Award, which was begun last year. The award was created to celebrate those who have worked to contribute to the success of Daemen and are role models of excellence, far exceeding the excellent performance expected of faculty and staff.
Before presenting the award, President Olson said Bellanca’s colleagues and supervisors described him as “an indispensable member of the Daemen community” and someone who “strives daily to ensure the best for the university.”
Olson also recognized a staff member, an administrator, and a faculty member as the year’s most outstanding members of the Daemen community. The honorees included Peg Lacki, an administrative associate in the Student Success Center, Outstanding Staff Award; Yolanda Morris, the senior director for enrollment events and experience, Amanda Gross Outstanding Administrator Award; and Dr. Nancy Marck Cantwell, a professor in the English Department, Outstanding Faculty Award.
