Buffalo Business First has named Lamark Shaw, the director of career services and an adjunct professor at Daemen University, a recipient of one of this year’s IDEA (Inclusion Diversity Equity Awareness) Awards.
The annual IDEA Awards highlight champions of diversity and inclusion in their workplaces and in the community.
Shaw is one of 25 individuals who will be honored during a dinner at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens in February. He was chosen from about 65 nominations.
“I am humbled to be recognized alongside other incredible individuals dedicated to fostering positive change,” Shaw said. “This honor is very encouraging, and it fuels my commitment to fostering a workplace and community where everyone feels valued and heard. Being among the 25 celebrated individuals underscores the importance of our shared journey towards creating a more inclusive future for all.”
Joining Daemen in 2011 as an adjunct professor, Shaw continues to teach CFE101: Career Field Experience. He started in Career Services as a career advisor.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Design from Buffalo State College, a master’s in Organizational Leadership from Medaille University, and an Entrepreneurial Leadership Certificate from the University at Buffalo.
