The resources and support services offered to veterans, reservists, and military-aligned students at Daemen University were recently featured in an episode of “Military Makeover Special Edition: Operation Career” on Lifetime Television.
Transitioning out of the military and back to civilian and academic life brings a variety of challenges for veterans. A production crew from Brandstar Studio, who produces the show hosted by talk show legend and military advocate Montel Williams, spent a day on campus in September to capture how Daemen welcomes veterans and provides them with the support they deserve in order to succeed.
The segment features Mark Martinez, the director of veteran and family services and a U.S. Army veteran; Dr. Michael Brogan, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, who is a Daemen alum and airforce veteran; and Madisyn Kilby, the president of the Student Veteran Association and an Air Force retiree.
Daemen’s episode will re-run 200-300 times on Lifetime as well as on The American Forces Network (AFN) on United States military bases around the world.
