Daemen’s new Senior Assistant Director of Admissions Tiffany Wagner didn’t always plan to work in enrollment. In fact, she started her education career in the Vet-Tech Program at Alfred State College.
“I was set to work with cows for the rest of my life,” Wagner said, with a laugh. “But then I became involved on campus as a tour guide, and in my senior year I realized I could channel this passion of working with prospective students into a career.”
Shifting gears, Wagner decided to pursue a degree in higher education at SUNY Buffalo State College, where she also worked as a graduate assistant in the admissions office.
That’s when Wagner knew she was truly passionate about working in enrollment.
“Each day is completely different because you have the opportunity to work with new students all the time, and to help them find their own unique path,” she explained.
Wagner came to Daemen from Canisius College, where she worked as an admissions counselor for the past three years. There, she worked to recruit students from New York’s Southern Tier. She also worked with international students and planned admissions events.
She saw her current position at Daemen as the next step in her professional life that she had been looking for.
“I was attracted to Daemen because of its focus and excellence in the liberal arts,” Wagner said. “There’s a variety of programs and there’s a feeling of ‘we’re here to support you’ toward our students, which I find very important.”
Outside of work, Wagner loves to discover new places.
“I’m a big traveler and explorer. I always want to find the next ‘big thing,’” she said.
Wagner resides in the Parkside neighborhood of Buffalo, where she enjoys spending time with her two cats, cooking, crafting and working on do-it-yourself projects.
