Students and alums of Daemen’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) have a studio space to call their own—a new website dedicated to their artwork.
Robert Waterhouse, associate professor of theatre and chair of VPA described the idea behind the project:
VPA is a powerhouse of talent and creative energy, and while the on-campus Tower Gallery and the Karamanoukian Gallery both show some of the work the department has to offer (as well as a regular rotation of work by visiting professionals) the constant surge of new work in the areas of graphic design, animation, illustration, drawing, ceramics, studio arts, photography and more is best represented by our digital galleries.
As the work that comes through our building is ever changing, our hope is that the digital galleries will be updated and refreshed to reflect each new surge of artistic energy by students and faculty alike.
VPA students may pursue: bachelor of fine arts degrees in animation, graphic design, illustration, visual arts education or studio arts (painting or sculpture), or a bachelor of science in art or leadership and entrepreneurship in the arts. Students may also pursue minors in graphic design, illustration, applied theatre, history of art, or entrepreneurship.
