Diane Arnone ‘81
Diane Arnone, who received a bachelor’s degree in art and a minor in marketing/management from Daemen College, credits her education with giving her the opportunity to combine a visual arts career with a media and business foundation.
“Whether it was graphics, drawing and painting, or ceramics, the small class sizes at Daemen and creative process inspired me to find my own niche in each medium,” said Arnone. “Collaboration with faculty and fellow students inspired me to continue on a creative path.”
After graduating from Daemen, Arnone went on to have a 15-year career in banking and computer programming. She then taught art for three years at St. Leo the Great Elementary School, and has since been with the Buffalo Public Schools, where she is currently a secondary art teacher at the Frederick Law Olmsted School. A member of the district’s Visual Arts Curriculum Committee, she helped to establish the first formal art curriculum in studio courses for grades K-12.
Arnone, who focuses on artwork in ceramics, drawing and painting, has exhibited at local galleries, including Buffalo Arts Studio, El Museo, and Daemen’s Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Gallery in the Haberman Gacioch Arts Center.
A North Buffalo resident, Arnone has been married for 21 years and has a daughter who graduated from Daemen in 2015 with a doctorate in physical therapy.
