Rafalson Honored with Excellence Award

Buffalo Business First honored Dr. Lisa Rafalson, founding dean of the College of Health, Human Sciences, and Business, as a 2026 Excellence in Health Care Awards winner during its annual awards dinner at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens on June 17.

The Excellence in Health Care Awards recognize 25 healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, administrators, board members, advocates, and researchers, for their dedication to improving health system operations across a variety of organizations in Western New York.

“Dr. Rafalson’s advocacy for improving healthcare, accessibility, and education epitomizes excellence,” said Dr. Michael Brogan, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost. “Her ongoing dedication has opened pathways for students to pursue their education, encouraged professionals to exceed their potential, and ensured equitable access for others. Daemen is incredibly proud of her accomplishments, and she continues to play a key role in our success.”
