Dr. Robert Rood, an experienced administrator in financial management and operations, officially started as Daemen College’s new vice president for business affairs and treasurer on June 1.
“I am delighted to have Bob join our Daemen family and excited to have the opportunity to work with him in this vital role,” said Daemen President Gary Olson. “In these challenging times in higher education, I have no doubt Bob’s impressive administrative experience and record of exemplary leadership will help to strengthen our short- and long-term business operations.”
As one his first actions as vice president, Rood has announced the promotion of Lisa Arida to the newly created position of associate vice president for business affairs and comptroller. Her appointment is effective immediately.
In making the announcement, Rood said, “Lisa’s accomplishments in the interim vice president capacity were exceptional, and this appointment reflects our confidence in her for a job well done. In addition to Lisa’s many years of committed service to Daemen, she has proven to be a strong leader and her expertise and broad understanding of our business affairs procedures will be valuable as we move forward in strengthening our division’s efforts.”
Rood comes to Daemen from Lourdes University in Ohio, where he was vice president for finance and administration. He previously was associate vice president of finance and interim treasurer and CFO at Roberts Wesleyan College and has held financial administrative positions in the nonprofit and banking industries.
In the coming months, Rood will meet with members of the Daemen community as he and his team plan the next steps for the business affairs division.
