To recognize the academic achievements of first-generation students, Daemen University established the Lambda Pi Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) National Honor Society.
Over 100 students currently enrolled at Daemen are eligible for this prestigious recognition. They are the first in their families to attend college, have earned a minimum of 30 credits, and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Daemen hosted an inaugural Tri-Alpha induction ceremony on Oct. 23. Inductees included:

“First-generation college students often face unique challenges, such as navigating academic preparedness, limited familial support, and financial instability, which can impact graduation rates,” said Tiffany Hamilton, Vice President of Institutional Equity & Belonging at Daemen. “Despite these challenges, first-generation students demonstrate remarkable resilience and determination, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate their academic success with this recognition.”
