SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's cross country team placed seven runners in the top-10, including the top four runners, to open up the 2022 season with a team win in the Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational on Saturday morning on the campus of Le Moyne.

Sophomore Marcy Colca (Getzville, N.Y.) picked up right where she left off in the 2021 season, placing first overall in the field of 66 runners with a time of 15:32.2 over the 4K race. Teammate Kassandra Nolet (Fort Erie, Ont.) finished four seconds behind Colca, posting a second-place time of 15:36.4.

Two more Wildcats rounded out the top four runners, with junior Camryn Bailey (Geneva, N.Y.) earning her highest collegiate finish, coming in third with a time of 15:59.5. Freshman Patsy Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.) finished in fourth-place in her collegiate debut with a 4K time of 16:04.1.

Daemen was one of seven teams participating in the Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational this morning. The Wildcats, which had seven runners finish in the top-10, posted a team total of 15 points to take home the team title. SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry placed second (59), followed by race host Le Moyne (68), Morrisville (125), and Cazenovia (129).

The Wildcats took home four first-place finishes last season. This marks the first time since the Canisius Alumni Classic (Oct. 16, 2021) that Daemen finished on top.

Next Saturday (Sept. 10), the Wildcats host the Daemen Alumni Invitational at Williamsville's Bassett Park.
